Synopsis:

Will love conquer all?

Nora and Patch thought their troubles were behind them. Hank is gone and they should be able to put his ugly vendetta to rest. But in Hank's absence, Nora has become the unwitting head of the Nephilim and must finish what Hank began. Which ultimately means destroying the fallen angels - destroying Patch.

Nora will never let that happen, so she and Patch make a plan: lead everyone to believe they have broken up, and work the system from the inside. Nora will convince the Nephilim that they are making a mistake in fighting the fallen angels, and Patch will find out everything he can from the opposing side. They will end this war before it can even begin.

But the best-laid plans often go awry. Nora is put through the paces in her new role and finds herself drawn to an addictive power she never anticipated.

As the battle lines are drawn, Nora and Patch must confront the differences that have always been between them and either choose to ignore them or let them destroy the love they have always fought for.

What I thought:

After four long years the Hush, hush series has finally come to a conclusion. You might have seen my previous post when I saw the cover art for the final book, well now I’ve read it. I’ve loved this series from the start; the way it captures your imagination with Nora’s supernatural life in the eerie town of Coldwater. We’ve seen Patch and Nora through ups and downs, good times and bad times and now maybe we’ll find out if they’ll get their happy ending.

To start, the writing was good as usual, there wasn’t a lot of over description but I didn’t always need to know what Nora was wearing that day. Also, Nora didn’t seem as likeable as she did in the previous books, she was always quite confident but she seemed to be a different person in this book, maybe it was just to complement her new Nephilim body and her position in the Nephilim army. Vee was her usual, fun and pushy self which helped lift the sombre mood at times.

Patch was the same brooding fallen angel, but I’m not complaining. He was loyal to Nora and decent to Scott although another person might have been suspicious of the relationship he had with Nora. There were a few twists and turns in the book, especially in the end and I’ll admit I feel a little sad now that I’ve read it. Not just because it’s over but because the end can be bitter-sweet depending on which characters you liked.

If you enjoyed the rest of the series definitely read this and if this is the first you’ve heard of these books but you like fallen angels, give it a try.
