Next on my reading list: The Rise of Nine by Pittacus Lore

So since I’ve finally finished The Night Circus I’ve started to read Pure by Julianna Baggott, I’m not very far in so I can’t say much but I’m hoping it’s good one. That aside I’ve finally gotten my hands on the newly released The Rise of Nine book, which for those wondering is the third book in its Lorien Legacies series. I’ll have to say a thank you to the people at Penguin who kindly provided me with a copy. It’s also the first review copy of a book I’ve received from a publishing house so I’ll be sure to remember this momentous occasion.

Now onto the book:

So happy I took a picture!

Synopsis:

Until the day I met John Smith, Number Four, I'd been on the run alone, hiding and fighting to stay alive.

Together, we are much more powerful. But it could only last so long before we had to separate to find the others. . . .

I went to Spain to find Seven, and I found even more, including a tenth member of the Garde who escaped from Lorien alive. Ella is younger than the rest of us, but just as brave. Now we're looking for the others--including John.

But so are they.

They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
They caught me in New York--but I escaped.
I am Number Six.
They want to finish what they started.
But they'll have to fight us first.

I’ve noticed the further into the series we go the more I enjoy it. I don’t know why I find it entertaining but I have a feeling that it’s because we’re getting to see more of the new, exciting characters and less of the older, annoying ones. If you’ve read the previous books you’ll know what I mean.

Review to come!

  1. After reading I am number 4 and watching the movie I was pleased to find the story continues! And again! A great, if easy, read probably aimed at younger viewers but still entertaining for people of all ages! I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a bit of intergalactic mystery and alien super powers.
